Origins
Connecting the dots
Steve Jobs once said that you can only connect the dots looking backward.
When I was training as a conference interpreter in Paris in 2022, I didn’t realize how deeply it would shape the way I teach French today.
The same skills interpreters rely on — active listening, quick decision-making, structuring ideas clearly, and speaking with precision and poise — now guide my teaching philosophy and classroom approach.
Tryst
My French chapter began almost by accident. I took my first class reluctantly in October 2015, but within a month, I was captivated.
By 2020, I had taught English in five French schools across four regions, earned the DALF C2, and spent long stretches of time with French families in Bretagne, Alsace, and Isère.
One of these families hosted me during the lockdown, in an unforgettable 9-month long period that further strengthened my connection to France.
Truths
France soon became more than a destination — it became home, and my French alter ego had risen.
Fast forward to 2025, and I had lived in five cities across four regions and had been travelling widely across France and Europe.
Through these years, I’ve come to realize a few truths:
● Language is the primary tool of cultural transmission. It was only through my mastery — and love — of French that I was able to experience such moments of belonging.
● Learning French opens doors far beyond the language itself — to perspective, connection, and identity.
● And above all, fluency without connection is empty fluency. True mastery grows from linguistic rigor, interpreting skills, cultural immersion, and a genuine love for the language.
These truths continue to guide both who I am and how I teach.
Milestones
My calling took me to France and then shaped my journey.
Foundation stone
I switched my studies from engineering to economics and began learning French seriously.
France becomes Home
Over 5 years, I teach English in five French schools across four regions, live in four cities, travel widely in & around France and earn the DALF C2. But most importantly, I meet wonderful people and families, and make lasting connections
Head to the capital
My Conference Interpreting studies take my French beyond DALF C2! In addition, I learn a range of crucial skills that will allow me to found FLE-Flex!
FLE-Flex is born
I had been teaching French long before. But, this is when I begin diversifying my teaching offer & developing new techniques. My first students (B2) are a couple: Wiktor from Poland & Margherita from Italy! I thoroughly enjoyed all our group sessions, that took place until they moved out of France.
Portfolio Diversification
Within a year, learners from 15+ countries join FLE-Flex. We now offer a range of learning programs available in various formats.
